New Vision Can Help You
Break the Cycle of Addiction
In our inpatient medical stabilization service known as New Vision, patients undergo medically supervised detoxification. A typical inpatient stay lasts three to five days. During the medical stabilization process, withdrawal symptoms are medically supervised by a fully qualified substance abuse treatment team. This team includes a medical doctor and nursing personnel.
New Vision is neither a residential nor an outpatient treatment program. New Vision services are exclusive to three-to-five-day inpatient detoxification and discharge planning. There are no counseling or psychiatric services offered in the New Vision program. Patients with acute psychiatric needs may be admitted to another program. Also, New Vision is not intended for use in pregnant patients.
What’s Included?
An inpatient stay at the Adult Substance Abuse Withdrawal Unit includes:
- Pre-screening & assessment (review of medical history, physical, full lab workup, nurse assessment)
- Admission
- Medical stabilization
- Appropriate discharge planning (may include resources and/or rehabilitation)
Who is a candidate for New Vision Withdrawal Management?
An inpatient medical stabilization service like New Vision may be beneficial to any adult patient with alcohol or drug dependency – including those who meet some of the following criteria:
- Extremely high tolerance for mood-altering chemicals.
- History of withdrawal symptoms.
- Outpatient medical stabilization (at home) is not feasible.
- Patient has a serious medical condition.
- Patients are a threat to themselves or others while under the influence.
